Required University DEI Language

DEI-Focused Ad Language
Consider embedding your departmental needs and our campus value around DEI into the position's job description, including your listing of required and preferred skills, and making mention of existing cluster hire programs or any other DEI-related searches, even if your search isn't among them.
Diversity Statement in the "how to apply" section and the long ad text:
Applicants must include a Statement of demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in teaching, scholarship and/or service describing past experience, contributions to diversity and inclusion efforts, the impact on students, faculty, staff and/or your field and a description of how you will demonstrate a commitment in these areas in teaching, research, and/or service at Cal Poly (direct candidates to upload under ‘other’).
University Cluster Hire Example Language
"Cal Poly strongly values diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in the classroom and among its areas of study. Required:

The successful applicant should be able to clearly demonstrate how they have infused these values and student learning objectives into their work. They should be prepared to present a tractable plan for how they would infuse these areas into their work as a faculty member.”
Preferred:

CLA Example Language
