What is BEACoN Research Mentoring?
BEACoN Research Mentoring is a program funded by the Office of University Diversity and Inclusion that allows underrepresented students and professors to connect and work together with common interest. Selected students work with Cal Poly faculty during winter and spring quarters and receive a $1500 stipend for approximately 100 hours of work each quarter. Importantly, in addition to providing students with research opportunities, faculty members provide their student with mentoring and professional development advice to facilitate their success at Cal Poly and beyond.
You may apply to work with up to three different faculty members (but to be considered for multiple projects, please submit one application for each faculty project you are interested in). If you apply to more than three projects, we will consider the first three you submit.
